How To Maintain A Healthy Scalp

We would like to share some tips on maintaining a healthy scalp,here are the tips:

  • Nourish that first inch of hair that emerges from the scalp as this is the secret to addressing hair fall.
  • Consume  a proper high protein diet which include lean meat, fish and a wide range of beans as they all are ideal sources of protein and amino acids that are important for scalp and hair health.
  • Eat food that contains oil such as flaxseed, borage, omega 3 and fish oil. Also take zinc supplements.
  • Take vitamins or dietary supplements that contain biotin or minoxidil but this requires prior consultation with dermatologist.
  • Apply warm oil once  a month on the scabs on your scalp.
  • Use hot and cold water alternately when shampooing your scalp. This will improve circulation and help to avoid the build up of dead skin cells.
  • Try to massage rather than scratch your scalp when applying shampoo.
  • Drink at least two liters of water every day. Keeping yourself hydrated is essential in having your hair and skin look healthy and well conditioned.
  • Trim your hair regularly to improve its condition.
  • Since stress and anxiety are some of the most common causes for hair fall and unhealthy scalp, take a look at your life and try to identify those areas that cause your great anxiety and work on improving them.
